Cdr. Amyus Bale - Personal log - 12 April

Our satellites detected another UFO flying over Europe.

Raven-1 launched to intercept.  This one was tougher than the last, taking a pounding and giving it back.  With the pilot screaming down the coms to get her out of their, I ordered the abort, then spur of the moment ordered a second launch.  Blindsiding through the clouds of smoke pouring from Raven-1's battered fuselage, Raven-2 took the UFO from behind, slamming it to earth.
The crash site is on the Austrian border.  A strike team are already on their way: Cpl. Saxby and Sq. Joy, both with experience assaulting a downed UFO; Cpl. Hill in command; Cpl. Gent for his local knowledge; and Cpl. Ash, a steady hand.

The troops have proved themselves in their last engagements, and they're feeling confident they can handle anything the X-rays throw at them.  But as I watch the blip of the Skyranger crossing Europe, all I feel is foreboding.
